Supporting our Community

We are a group of Shifnal residents who started meeting once a month in January 2014 to focus on flooding issues in and around Shifnal. We are affiliated to and supported by The National Flood Forum  and are one of 160 affiliated groups across England and Wales who are set up to identify local issues, work with organisations and agencies to reduce the risks of flooding and support people affected by flood risks.

The group shares a common interest in our belief that we must work actively in partnership with organisations, agencies and interested parties to ensure that every possible measure is taken to alleviate flooding in Shifnal and assist in future flood awareness and resilience in the town.

If you are interested in finding out more please feel free to contact us or come along to our flood awareness day this October, when members of the group as well as representatives from partner organisations will be available to discuss your flooding concerns.

OUR GOAL

Here at Shifnal Flood Partnership Group, we are driven by a single goal; to protect Shifnal from flood risk. This isn't simply about putting up barriers to stop water. It's about developing an integrated plan that reduces the risk of flooding. This isn't a quick fix and it will take a number of years, a lot of hard work and no small amount of money to complete.

By it's very nature flooding its unpredictable and so we are also working hard to minimising the impact of flooding should it hit the town again.
